\nIn the production lines of the automotive industry, man and\u00a0machine work closely in many places, such as along conveyor\u00a0lines.\u00a0Scissor lifts\u00a0are used in various stages of production,\u00a0from\u00a0body construction\u00a0to\u00a0final assembly. They move car\u00a0bodies to the required processing heights. This enables workers\u00a0to\u00a0perform tasks ergonomically\u00a0and, for example, assemble\u00a0the interior fittings, seats, rims, and bumpers according to\u00a0customer requirements.<\/p>\n
\nThe movement of scissor lifts must not become a source of\u00a0danger for the people working near them. During assembly,\u00a0scissor lifts automatically move to the specified working\u00a0height. The system parts move against each other while the\u00a0lifts adjust. To ensure that none of the workers\u2019 body parts\u00a0get caught between the system parts, work on scissor lifts\u00a0can only be carried out if the lifts are locked in place. The\u00a0workpiece on the table can only be released for machining\u00a0when this end position is signaled.<\/p>\n

\nInductive safety sensors are ideal for\u00a0reliable detection of the\u00a0end position of scissor lifts. Two NSB15-L2M-2E2-V1-S2D2\u00a0inductive safety sensors can be used to detect the end\u00a0position\u2014one for the retracted state and one for the extended\u00a0state. The sensor is\u00a0SIL 2\/PL d-compliant. Its\u00a0space-saving\u00a0design\u00a0allows\u00a0flexible mounting\u00a0and\u00a0easy integration\u00a0into the\u00a0scissor lift.<\/p>\n
\nThe inductive safety sensors have\u00a0no dead band\u00a0and therefore\u00a0do not require a minimum distance to the target.\u00a0Standard\u00a0metal actuators or a metal part of the support structure can be\u00a0used as targets. No adjustments need to be made on the\u00a0target or machine part. The safety sensor is T\u00dcV-certified and\u00a0has high safety values. This means it can be\u00a0directly integrated\u00a0into the safety loop. In addition, the number of prescribed\u00a0regular reference runs can be reduced. Instead of carrying out\u00a0daily function tests, the\u00a0operating intervals\u00a0can be extended\u00a0up to\u00a0two months.<\/p>\n
